About Us
We are a group of dedicated reenactors of the men, women, and children of the 1860s. We are a progressive reenacting group that constantly strives to improve it's accuracy standards.
CONS Military Involvement
As I hope it is clear, CONS is neither a civilian, nor military organization. We are a committed group of individuals and families, who strive to recreate the years 1861-1865 to the best of our ability. This includes the portrayal of soldiers, serving in the volunteer armies of both the Federal and Confederate governments. When a particular event requires it, CONS will form a military contingent to serve in the ranks. This contingent will consist of any male members, who wish to employ a military impression. Though dual impressions are not required, it is highly recommended that you develop a civilian impression as well (if you have not already done so). After all, most of these men were not professional soldiers, but civilians in uniform (“Citizen Soldiers”).

CONS Civilian Involvement
CONS has a strong contigent of civilian living historians. We work with many local historical sites to portray North Carolina civilians. We strive to be as authentic to the 1860's as possible. Since CONS is neither a military nor a civilian group we have many opportunities for for both to interact. We not only try to accurately depict citizens with our dress, but also with our actions and demeanor. We strive to honor our ancestors.
